Agnico Eagle understands the challenges faced by residents of Northern Ontario in accessing essential medical care. Geography and financial limitations should never stand in the way of life-saving treatment, and that’s why we were proud to support Hope Air—a national charity dedicated to providing free medical travel supports for Canadians in need.
Agnico Eagle made a $100,000 investment to sustain Hope Air’s critical programs, bridging the gap between home and hospital for those in remote and rural communities. Hope Air’s services are a lifeline for Northern Ontarians, where patients often face daunting 8- to 16-
hour bus rides, steep travel costs, or the heart-wrenching decision to forego treatment altogether.
Hope Air’s impact in Northern Ontario is undeniable, with seven of their top eight routes originating in communities like Timmins, Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie. “Our work ensures that no one is left behind due to geography or financial limitations when accessing vital medical care,” said Mark Rubinstein, CEO of Hope Air. “Agnico Eagle’s partnership will make a transformative impact for families in Northern Ontario.”
As a leading employer in Northern Ontario, Agnico Eagle believes healthy communities are the cornerstone of a thriving workforce and vibrant region. “At Agnico Eagle, we are proud of our Northern Ontario roots and committed to serving the community,” shared André Leite, Vice President, Ontario Operations. “Partnering with Hope Air allows us to contribute to a meaningful cause that aligns with our values. We hope this gift inspires others to step up and support this vital service.”
